Refractors

Refractor telescopes have a reputation for providing crisp, sharp images. They are comprised of fixed optics in an enclosed optical tube, which means that they require minimum maintenance. As a refractor is made using lenses that are required to be accurately shaped, polished and coated they are more expensive to produce than other telescope designs.
